Nick Volosin recently received his BS in Cybersecurity from Western Washington University following his completion of an Associates in Cybersecurity from Whatcom Community College. During his time at Whatcom, he was selected to be Team Captain for the Pacific Rim Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (PRCCDC) team, as well as taking on leadership roles in a variety of clubs including President of the IT Professionals club, Vice-President of the Sustainability club, and a member of the Service Learning Club. Currently he is employed as a Information System Security Officer with Bechtel at the world’s largest radioactive waste treatment plant in Hanford, WA.

Originally interested in Environmental Science, Nick’s passion for sustainability led him to completing a Permaculture Design Certification in Australia. Following this, his extended solo travels around Asia allowed him to meet his wife before returning to his beloved home state of Washington to earn his degree. He realized his passion for technology could increase his ability to benefit the environment by protecting critical man-made systems that are integrated with nature. He hopes to have his own land to create a sustainable living space on the outside and a home to expand his personal Cyber Range for ethical hacking practice on the inside.
